MetaGen is written to run in Windows, and is written for pharmaceutical companies. Its benefits to them will be:
- Teaching
- A resource for teaching about the design, management and analysis of clinical trials. For example, TrialModeller can be used to generate a sequence of patients several times over, so that the student would be able to compare the results and biases of estimation resulting from different designs and protocols.
- Clinical trials simulation
- MetaGen is used to simulate clinical trials that have been proposed to predict problems of management and analysis. Every detail of the protocol should be checked, such as patient selection, form design, data recording, data checking, analysis, interpretation and reporting. Costs of alternative designs and protocols can be compared.
- Clinical trials monitoring
- MetaGen can assist in the monitoring of clinical trials as they progress. Therefore, predictions of completion times and outcomes can be revised, allowing companies to retain control over the management of their clinical trials.
